Weekend Round-up

  • I think at least a few readers well recognize themselves in this essay on "eating on the road to the archives," over at the Chronicle of Higher Ed. Ph.D. candidate Rachel Herrmann describes smuggling food into research lockers, gorging on the free muffins at her low-budget hotel, and, on the off-chance of weight gain, buying a pair of "research pants." It made me smile. KMT

ASLH members may recall Professor Appleby's plenary address on this topic at the annual meeting in Dallas in November 2009.
